The Welsh Corgi is a breed with a build that is well proportioned and well muscled. It has an appearance of quality. It coat is probably one of its most distinguishing characteristics. On its back the coat is close to its body and smooth. The fur on its deep and narrow chest, front and back legs, and underbelly is long and feathered. The ears are long and wider at the base. The ears hang down past its chin and are heavily feathered. The front limbs are always straight with slightly bent elbows. The back limbs are well angulated. Its tail is docked short or non-existent. The breed has a head with a round crown. The muzzle is long and tapering. The eyes are gentle in expression and dark in color. It has a prominent nose.
