The general appearance of the Alaskan Klee Kai is very similar to the Alaskan Husky. The most distinctive feature is the mask, which is composed of contrasting colors. The well-proportioned body is strong, yet not overly muscular. It is covered with a double coat that is furry and long in some types. The topcoat is straight and smooth while the undercoat is softer and shorter. The tail curls backwards and may cross over either side of the torso. They eyes are generally almond in shape, but round and oval shapes are also common. There are no extremes in the body. The shape of its frame is moderate in length from the muzzle to the hindquarters.
