Norwegian Buhund

Description

The Norwegian Buhund is a breed with a “boxy” build. It is longer than it is tall. The back is straight to the tail, which slightly curls backwards. It elongated neck transitions in shape, but without much pointedness. It has a definite stop. Its facial features are dark, The ears are set high and are triangular in shape. It stands on front legs that are straight and back legs that are moderately angled. Its coat is comprised of two layers. The bottom layer is smooth, thick, and close to its body. The top layer is also thick and smooth, but is more profuse at the legs, chest, neck, head, and tail.

Temperament

The Norwegian Buhund is a very sociable breed. It is good natured and tends to get along with everyone, including other pets, visitors, and children. It is very lively and may prove to be too energetic for young children. Supervision is always recommended when this breed interacts with young children.
