Description
The Welsh Corgi is a breed with a build that is well proportioned and well muscled. It has an appearance of quality. It coat is probably one of its most distinguishing characteristics. On its back the coat is close to its body and smooth. The fur on its deep and narrow chest, front and back legs, and underbelly is long and feathered. The ears are long and wider at the base. The ears hang down past its chin and are heavily feathered. The front limbs are always straight with slightly bent elbows. The back limbs are well angulated. Its tail is docked short or non-existent. The breed has a head with a round crown. The muzzle is long and tapering. The eyes are gentle in expression and dark in color. It has a prominent nose.
Temperament
The Welsh Corgi is a breed that enjoys its family and shows them constant affection to prove it. The breed is generally friendly to everyone, but may act cautiously around people it does not know. The breed is a natural hunter and makes an excellent hunting companioin. It is a hard worker. Whether it is hunting small game or watching its family's home, it will act with diligence and loyalty. It is a suitable playmate for school-aged children. This breed should not have an aggression or act timid in any way. it is a good idea to train it at an early age.
Height and Weight
The Welsh Corgi stands about 10-12 inches and weighs 27 pounds.
Health Problems
The Welsh Corgi tends to have an above average life expectancy and is not associated with any serious health conditions. Some types do develop arthritis.
Ideal Living Conditions
The Welsh Corgi can easily adapt to indoor or outdoor living conditions. Indoor types will remain active indoors.
Exercise
Daily exercise consisting of high-energy physical activity is necessary for the Welsh Corgi.

The Welsh Corgi has an average life expectancy of 12-15 years.

The Welsh Corgi has an average litter size of 6-7 puppies.
Grooming
The Welsh Corgi has an attractive coat, but it does not require a significant amount of grooming. If the coat is combed or brushed on a regular basis the coat will maintain its naturally healthy shine. The coat will require more brushing during shedding season.
