Description
The most distinguishing features of the Boykin Spaniel are its luxurious coat and long ears. Both of these features are characteristic of spaniels. The ears are set high on its round head. the ears have a significant amount of fur on them. The breed's coat is wavy and naturally repels water, making it a great swimming companion and water game hunting companion. The eyes tend to be a light color. Its head and muzzle are long. It ha a prominent stop.
Temperament
The Boykin Spaniel is a breed that is devoted to its family. it likes to spend time with its family playing or accompanying them while performing physical activity. There is really no one that this breed doesn't get along with. It is a good companion for children and generally gets along well with other pets. This breed is very smart and responsive to training.

Health Problems
The most serious condition that the Boykin Spaniel may develop is hip dysplasia. Aside from this common condition, the breed is also susceptible to conditions of the skin and heart.
Ideal Living Conditions
The Boykin Spaniel may live indoors or outdoors. It is an energetic breed that enjoys roaming free. The breed also enjoys spending time with its family. It is fine indoors, as long as it is provided daily physical activity.
Exercise
The Boykin Spaniel should receive exercise on a daily basis. This is most important for indoor types that are least likely to be active. The breed does not require vigorous physical activity. It will do fine with a daily walk, run, or swim.

The Boykin Spaniel has an average life expectancy of 14-16 years.

The Boykin Spaniel has an average litter size of 5-7 puppies.
Grooming
There are a few grooming tasks for the Boykin Spaniel. Like most spaniel breeds, its coat is susceptible to matting and tangles. The coat should be brushed frequently to keep the coat in good condition. Ears are also part of grooming this breed. Its long ears may trap bacteria, so they should be checked and cleaned on a regular basis.
